Christine Adams
Operating Officer, Chemical Information Technology Council

Christine Adams is a senior information systems manager at The Dow Chemical Company, responsible for global information technology public policy issues. Christine also serves as the operating officer of the Chemical Information Technology Center (ChemITC),™ a CHEMSTAR panel of the American Chemistry Council. In this role, she oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of the organization, working directly with the ten members of the Executive Board, the various standing committees and the leadership of the organization’s four strategic programs. Additionally, Adams is responsible for coordinating ChemITC efforts with government agencies, industry trade associations and other organizations to enhance the use of information technology in the chemical industry.
Adams joined Dow U.S.A. in 1975 in Business Information Systems at the Louisiana Division in Plaquemine, Louisiana and has since held progressive roles within the organization, including Information Systems Manager for Dow's global businesses Emulsion Polymers, Polyurethanes and, following the acquisition of Union Carbide, UCAR Emulsion Systems. In January 2002, Adams accepted responsibility as Global Opportunity Leader for IT Public Policy and later that year, was named director of the Chemical Sector Cyber Security Program. Adams held this position until late 2005, when she accepted her current role as operating officer for ChemITC.
Additionally, Adams serves as liaison to Dave Kepler, senior vice president, Shared Services and Environment, Health and Safety, and chief information officer of The Dow Chemical Company, in his role on the Executive Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Adams received a bachelor’s of science in mathematics, with an emphasis on computer science from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
